Whats New in Contact Management?
New message flow
When composing a new message, the user can add contacts in the To: field searching by name, number, or group tag. If a group tag is selected, a message will be sent to all the relevant contacts with that group tag.
Group tags
Group tags is a new addition and a replacement for contact groups. You can filter local (saved) contacts by Group tag. You can select a Group tag in the Contacts page and send a message to
As part of the migration process, contacts that were in a contact group will be added a Group tag with the same name.
Importing external contacts
You can now add one or more tags to the contacts being imported.
Scope of contacts (Contact Visibility)
There are two options for the contact visibility:
Private: Just me
Public: Everyone
Contacts previously shared with an Inbox will become public after the migration to the new version, i.e. available for everyone. During the migration a Group tag with the name of the shared inbox will be added to those contacts, so they can be easy filtered by Group Tag. Permissions for public contacts or contacts set for Everyone are the same as before and those are View only or View and Edit.
