New Contact Management - Edit a Contact

Edit a Contact
  1. In the YakChat app, open the Contacts window by selecting 'Contacts' from the drop-down main menu.
  2. Choose the contact that you want to edit from the contact list.
  3. The contact details will appear in the Contact Information panel on the right-side of the screen.
  4. Click on the field that you want to Edit and type the desired information. This can include:
    1. First and last name
    2. Email address
    3. Phone number
    4. Notes
    5. Add or remove Tags
    6. Assign a Shared Inbox (this option is only available for public contacts - see below) 
  5. If you are the contact owner, you can also manage permissions:
    1. Just me: the contact is only visible to you, it is called a private contact.
    2. Everyone: the contact is visible to every company user using YakChat, it is called a public contact.
    3. You can allow other users to 'View only' or 'View and Edit' your public contacts.
Notes
Assigning a Shared Inbox to a public contact helps organizing and finding contacts who are relevant to the users of that shared inbox. However, public contacts are available to all company users using YakChat, regardless if they have a shared inbox assigned or not. See also the Filter Contacts article.
