Adding the YakChat App to a Teams Channel
Follow these steps to add YakChat to your Microsoft Teams channel and connect it to an inbox.
Step 1: Ensure YakChat is installed in Teams
- Verify that YakChat is installed in your Microsoft Teams environment.

Step 2: Add YakChat to a channel
- Go to the channel where you want to add YakChat.
- Click the + button to add an app.
- In the pop-up window, select the YakChat app and click Save.
Note: Please make sure to add YakChat to a Standard or Public channel, as it does not work in Private channels.
Step 3: Connect YakChat to an inbox
- If you are assigned to only one inbox, it will connect automatically.
If you are assigned to multiple inboxes:
- Post @yakchat connect in the channel.
- YakChat will send an adaptive card so you can choose the correct inbox.
- Select the inbox and click OK.
Step 4: Notification Settings
- Go to the channel.
- Open the channel notification settings.
- Choose "Show in Activity and banner".
- Check the "Include thread replies" check box.
- Click Save.
Note: This is a per user setting so each user needs to follow this step to get these notifications.
