Follow these steps to start a group chat in YakChat.

Step 1: Start a new message

1. Click the plus button to open a new message.

Step 2: Add recipients

1. In the To field, type a name or number.
2. Or click Add Contacts in the top right and select anyone you want to include.

Step 3: Choose Group Chat

1. From the message type drop-down menu, select Group Chat.
2. This ensures everyone’s replies stay in one conversation.

Step 4: Compose and send your message

1. Type your message in the text box.
2. Click Send.

Step 5: Start a group chat using tags (alternative)

1. Open the Contacts menu.
2. Go to the Tags tab.
3. Select the tag you want to message and click Message Contacts.
4. From the message type drop-down, select Group Chat.
5. Write your message and click Send.

Follow these steps to send a broadcast message in YakChat.

Step 1: Start a new message

1. Click the plus button to open a new message.

Step 2: Add contacts

1. Type a name or number in the To field.
2. Or click Add Contacts in the top right and select multiple contacts.

Step 3: Choose Broadcast

1. From the message type drop-down, select Broadcast.
2. This sends your message as individual conversations to each selected contact.

Step 4: Compose and send your message

1. Type your message in the text box.
2. Click Send.

Step 5: Send a broadcast using tags (alternative)

1. Open the Contacts menu.
2. Go to the Tags tab.
3. Select the tag you want to message and click Message Contacts.
4. Ensure Broadcast is selected from the drop-down.
5. Write your message and click Send.
