Update the Power Automate connector to V2

Overview

The YakChat Power Automate connector has been updated and will be displayed in PowerAutomate with the "(V2)" suffix.  Updating to the V2 connector is required for the rollout of the YakChat V2 configuration update but can be implemented before the update because the V2 connector is backwards compatible and enabling it to operate with all YakChat configurations (V1 and V2).

Refer to this article if you have already updated to the Power Automate connector (V2) and need to reconnect to your V2 configuration.

Updating a YakChat Trigger top (V2)

The following describe how to replace a YakChat flow trigger to the new (V2) trigger.

Delete existing YakChat trigger

Edit the Power Automate flow and delete the YakChat trigger.
  1. Click on the YakChat trigger to open the settings window on the left
  2. Click on the three vertical dots at the top of the settings window
  3. Select Delete from the drop down menu



Add the YakChat (V2) trigger

Add the new YakChat (V2) trigger 
  1. Click on the Add a trigger box that is displayed after deleting the YakChat trigger in the previous step to display the Add a trigger window
  2. Use the search bar to search for "YakChat" and select from one of the following YakChat triggers:
    1.  When  a message sent (V2)
    2. When a message is received (V2)
    3. When a message is sent or received
  3. Select the Inbox or Number using the Inbox/Number drop down in the settings window and save your flow.



Once successfully saved, your flow will now be triggered by the new YakChat (V2) trigger.

Updating a YakChat Action to (V2)

The following instructions describe how to replace a YakChat flow action to the new (V2) action.  There are two methods:
  1. Delete the existing action first and add the new YakChat (V2) action
  2. Add a new YakChat (V2) action after the existing YakChat action
We recommend option 2, adding the new action first so that the old action can be referred to if necessary and then deleted once all of the parameters have been added.

Add the YakChat (V2) action trigger

Add the new YakChat (V2) action
  1. Click on the existing YakChat action and take note of the parameters used
  2. Click on the '+' button below the existing YakChat action to display the Add a trigger window
  3. Use the search bar to search for "YakChat" and select the YakChat Send an SMS (V2) action



Add the YakChat (V2) action settings in the settings window
  1. Add the Message Text or the flow parameter to use for the message text
  2. Add the To Number or the flow parameter from a previous action to use for the number to send the text to
  3. Check that you have included all of the settings used in the YakChat action being replaced then delete the old YakChat action 
  4. Ensure you have selected the Inbox or Number to send the text from using the From Inbox/Number drop down in the YakChat (V2) action and save the flow



Once successfully saved, your flow will now use the new YakChat (V2) action.
