How to Add the YakChat Bot to Webex

Overview

This article guides you how to Create a Space in Webex and how to add YakChat app to it. By adding the app you can use all of the functions of messaging app all within Webex. 
Notes
YakChat can be added to a space that you have already created in Webex, or you can add it to a new space. If you already have an existing space in Webex, please proceed with step c.

How to Add the YakChat Bot to Webex

Follow these simple steps

  1. Open Webex

    1. Launch the app on your computer.

  1. Access the search bar at the top of the Webex window 

    1. Type: yakchat@webex.bot and press Enter.
    2. You will see the YakChat bot appear in the search results.

  1. Click on the avatar to add it to your spaces.

    1. Once added, send a message to the bot saying signin.
    2. You will receive a prompt to authenticate using your Webex account credentials.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign-in process.
    4. To make the bot easier to access, right-click on the space and select Add to Favourites.
    5. The YakChat bot will now appear at the top of your spaces list.

  2. You’re all set! You can now use YakChat directly within Webex to streamline your communication.
