Overview
When creating a YakChat contact, there are several actions you can perform before saving, that can speed up the setup of your workspace. Each action, and how it can be used is listed in this article.
Should you want to add your contact to a contact group during the onboarding process, you can do so via the panel on the left-hand side of the screen when adding a new contact.
To add this contact to a contact group select the group/s by clicking the + button to the left-hand side. You can also search for a contact group by clicking on the contacts group field of the contact and searching for a contact group.
Once you have chosen this sharing capability, you will be given an option to choose if contacts will have either of the following
- View only which means that other users will not be able to edit or delete this contact
- View and edit which will give other users the permission to edit and delete this contact.

Adding several contacts at a time has been made to be much quicker by selecting the Save and add new button. This button can be found by selecting the arrow to the right of the Save button within the adding contacts screen.
This function is also available when adding a new contact group.
