Webex Bot before Authentication

Overview

As soon as the bot is installed it can receive text messages, however, it cannot respond to these text messages or send new messages. The Bot must be authenticated before it can send SMS messages. This article will show us the steps on how you can authenticate Webex.

Authentication Process

Step 1: Sign in to Webex

Click the button below and sign in using your Webex account

Step 2: Authenticate

You will then be presented with the Webex authentication screen. Once the bot has been authenticated it can send and receive SMS messages.

Note: Any messages received before authentication will now be “orphaned” and should be “left” as soon as possible (to avoid any confusion with new texts) by doing the following:

Select the message
Right-click the message
Select Room
Right-click the room
Select Leave
