This release notes outlines the updates, and
improvements introduced in this release of YakChat. Please refer to the Knowledge Base article for each specific feature to learn more about it.
Authentication
- Added
support for non-Microsoft login methods, including Gmail and the ability
to create an independent account.
- Available
across all partner applications.
- New
integration to retrieve Outlook contacts through Contact Manager when
unified contact management is enabled.
- Support
added for saving and messaging international numbers via WhatsApp (SMS
remains restricted to domestic numbers only).
- Added
Tenant ID configuration for companies to support Outlook and SharePoint
contact retrieval.
- Introduced
pagination for Outlook and SharePoint contact queries via Contact Manager
API to improve performance.
Calling
- You
can now initiate calls directly from the contact page using your default
calling client (UC client or softphone).
Messaging Enhancements
- WhatsApp
template messages now display in the chat window exactly as they appear in
WhatsApp.
- The
“Take a Tour” guide has been updated to reflect recent UX/UI changes.
Administration Improvements
- Webhooks now include a GUID for all nuclei requests (to be
displayed in the Admin Portal in a future release).
- Teams Bot performance improvements reduce the chance of
duplicate messages during peak usage.
- Credit Manager fixes ensure messages send correctly when the
cost matches the remaining fair usage balance.
Tag-based messaging now supports more than 20 contacts at once, ensuring messages reach all selected recipients.
Shared contacts now display only in the correct tab for clearer organization.
WhatsApp inbound videos now include preview thumbnails for a smoother media experience.
Closed chat rooms are now removed from view, keeping the interface clean and up to date.
WhatsApp icons remain visible in the room list during outbound messaging for consistent visibility.
Contact counts for tags are now displayed accurately in mobile view.
The contact import template has been streamlined for easier use.
Files and images are now cleared automatically when starting a new chat.
Shortcuts now insert cleanly into the message box without extra characters.
New contacts automatically adopt the inbox’s default country code for greater accuracy.
Out-of-office times now display correctly across all time zones.
Avatars now display user names for better recognition.
Outlook tags remain stable and in place when clicked.
The app now opens directly to the main view on both mobile and desktop for a smoother start-up experience.
- Contact lists now stay aligned with inbox management—removing an inbox also removes its associated contacts.
Teams Bot
- Message delivery has been optimized to reduce the chance of duplicates, even during peak usage.
