Features
Service Provider (SP)-Initiated Authentication Flow - This
authentication flow occurs when a user initiates login from YakChat and is
redirected to Okta for authentication.
Requirements
In order to proceed with configuring login
through Okta, you must:
- Have
access to an Okta tenant
- Administrator
privileges in the Okta tenant
- Administrator
access to YakChat
Setup
Instructions
Locate your company ID in YakChat
2. Locate and make note of your company ID:
1. Navigate to Applications
and select the installed YakChat application.
2. On the Sign On page,
please make a copy of Client ID and Client secret under the
Client Credentials section.
3. Locate your Okta Organization
URL in the upper-right corner of the Okta admin console. This takes the format
of https://your_domain.okta.com.
1. In the Okta admin console,
navigate to the installed YakChat application.
2. On the General tab, under App
Settings enter your company ID.

SP-initiated SSO
After receiving confirmation that your
configuration has been successfully updated, you can proceed to test it. The
sign-in process is initiated from YakChat.
1. Navigate to:
- The YakChat messaging app on Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex or via browser.
- The YakChat Admin Portal: https://portal.yakchat.com/
2. Select the Okta login provider, enter your email address and
you will be automatically redirected to your Okta organization.
3. Enter your Okta credentials, including your email and password,
and then click the 'Sign in with Okta' button.
