The features included in YakChat version 2.1 are summarized below.  
Note: Existing customers' configuration must be updated to the latest version by YakChat before the features and applications detailed below can be made available.  Contact info@yakchat.com for more information.
 

New Messaging App

The YakChat messaging app version 2.1 was re-developed from the ground up using a different code base that software technologies to create a significantly 'lighter' application with the following improvements:
  1. Re-designed user interface
  2. Reduced initial loading time when opening the app 
  3. Improved speed of response
  4. Enhanced scrolling technology to provide smoother quicker message scrolling
  5. Optimized image loading by pre-loading low resolution images before loading the full image to speed up scrolling especially on iPhones
  6. Enriched the user experience when used in the Microsoft teams mobile app including left swipe quick menu for each conversation
  7. Simplified installation only requiring user consent for app.  Admin consent is only required to access Microsoft contacts
  8. Updated the messages and contacts navigation to provide more screen space when used on a mobile device

New features

The following new features are available in the new messaging app
  1. Mark message as unread
  2. Separate 'My Messages' from other messages in a shared inbox
  3. Assign messages to other shared inbox users
  4. Conversation filters 
  5. Refined text translation displaying the translated text in each message
  6. Retain partially written text messages
  7. Retain last inbox and contact source used
  8. Set default contact source
  9. Set default inbox
  10. Advanced contact sharing
  11. Copy and paste multiple phone numbers from a spreadsheet to send a message to 
  12. Copy and paste pictures into a message (screenshots)
  13. Drag and drop files into a message
  14. Additional MMS file type support including PDF
  15. Copy or export messages in a conversation
  16. Group Chat 

Microsoft Teams 

In addition to the messaging app improvements, the following enhancements have been made when used inside Microsoft Teams 
  1. Available to download from the Microsoft Teams app store
  2. Removed the requirement for separate admin consent and sign-in for the bot
  3. Simplified Teams channel installation process
  4. Management of each channel connection from the YakChat admin portal

Webex Integration

Integration with Webex, including Webex Broadsoft.  The features included are summarized below:
  1. Provide Webex notification with each new text message
  2. Create a new space for each text conversation with a phone number or contact
  3. Update space name with the contact name saved in YakChat or Outlook
  4. Reply to text messages in the same way as chatting with other Webex users
  5. Embedded, fully featured, messaging app supporting all the functionality listed above
  6. Access the messaging app from the Webex sidebar

Notes:
  1. MMS group chat messages can only be initiated from the messaging app or from the third party 
  2. Single sign-on using Webex accounts is not available (multi-tenant SSO is not supported by Cisco)
