How to use YakChat in Microsoft Teams Chat (Personal Inbox only)
Overview
YakChat provides a notification when a text is received in the Teams Chat for Personal Inboxes and in the Teams Channel for Shared Inboxes. This guide provides instructions for how to use YakChat in the Teams Chat for Personal Inboxes.
New Text Notification
Each inbound text will be sent as a Teams Chat in the YakChat conversation which will provide a notification in Teams in the same way as when a Chat is received from a Teams user. The text will be displayed in an adaptive card with a My Inbox and Reply button. Selecting the My Inbox button will open the YakChat application and selecting the Reply button will enable you to quickly reply to the message
Reply to a Text
Selecing the Reply button on any text that you wish to send a reply will open a reply box where you can enter your reply then click on the Send button to send the text.
Send a Text
Click on the Chat icon in Microsoft Teams and then select the YakChat conversation. Then in the Type Your Questions Here box type the following making sure you leave a space between each:
'text'
The number you want to send your text to
The text message you wish to send.
Click on the Send icon or hit Return on your keyboard to send the text.
For example: 'text 4253850385 This is an outbound text message from Teams Chat'
