Overview

Importing contacts allow you to import a large number of contacts quickly into YakChat. Currently YakChat supports importing up to 1000 contacts. 

The importing file must be a CSV and XLS files and all phone numbers must be in the E164 format (e.g. +14111111111).

Step 1: Using the template

1. YakChat has created a template to make it easier to create a file that is in the correct format. To find this template go to the Contacts tab and select the + button and then Import contacts. 

2. In the primary panel an option to Download a template can be found, click this button to download the template. There is also a Download a template button in the side panel. 

3. Open the downloaded files and fill in with up to 1000 contacts. 

1. To import contacts, go to the Contacts tab and select the + button and then Import contacts. 

2. Either drag and drop your file or click Browse to open you file explorer to open your file. 

3. Once the file has been uploaded you will be redirected to the next page, this is where you can ensure that your CSV or XLS file matches the YakChat format. For each heading select what this is called in your CSV or XLS file. Once this has been completed click Forward. 

4. Check that your contacts have been added correctly and then click Import Contacts, this will add these contacts to your YakChat contacts list.
