How to Connect YakChat to your VoiceMeUp service

Overview

Connect YakChat to your VoiceMeUp telephony service using the following 3 easy steps: 
  1. Create a API User 
  2. Obtain the Auth Token
  3. Configure DID Numbers for YakChat SMS 
  4. Send configuration information to YakChat
After these steps, we’ll then test the connection for you and confirm when everything is set up.


Step 1: Create API User

Navigate to the Users & Access page and create a user with API access only using the following steps:
  1. Navigate to Numbers > Users & Access from the left menu.
  2. Click the New  button and enter the Username, First Name, Last Name and Email and the Sub-Account you wish to assign the user to.
  3. Click on the Access tab and select the Allow access to the API only tick box
  4. Click on the Regenerate the Token button to create an Auth Token and click on the Copy icon on the Auth Token field.
  5. Save the User Name so that it can be used in Step 4.
  6. Click the Save button to save the new user



Step 2: Obtain Auth Token

Select the API User created in the previous step and obtain the Auth token using the following steps
  1. Find the API User and click the Edit button to edit the user
  2. Select the Access tab and click on the Copy icon on the Auth Token field.
  3. Save the Auth Token so that it can be used in Step 4.
  4. Click the Save button to save the new user




Step 3: Configure DID Numbers for SMS

Navigate to the Services page to configure the DID's for SMS using the following steps:
    1. Navigate to Services > DID Numbers from the left side menu.
    2. Click on the Edit button on the DID number that displays the "SMS/'MMS" option to configure SMS.
    3. Scroll down to the Enable Callback URL (Webhook) and enter the following URL: https://sp.yakchat.com/voicemeup/message 
    4. Ensure the Enable Delivery Notifications box is ticked 
    5. Click the the Save button to save the configuration




    Step 4: Submit your VoiceMeUp Integration Details

    Enter the following Infobip connection details in the the form below:
    1. Select "VoiceMeUp" as the SMS service provider
    2. Enter the User Name into Data 1 (from step 1)
    3. Enter your VoiceMeUp Access Auth Token into Integration Data 2 (from step 2)
    4. Enter the phone number YakChat can use to test and confirm the service is working correctly (step 3)
