How to Connect YakChat to Your Sinch Service

Overview

YakChat can connect with your Sinch telephony service in 4 easy steps: 
  1. Copy your API Token
  2. Copy your Regional API Endpoint (URL)
  3. Set the Default Callback URL
  4. Verify the Number Configuration
  5. Send API information to YakChat
After these steps, we’ll then test the connection for you and confirm when everything is set up.


Step 1: Copy your API Token 

Navigate to the SMS Service APIs and copy your API Token using the following instructions:
  1. Navigate to SMS > Service APIs from the left menu
  2. Click on the REST Messaging API Name (Create a new REST configuration if no REST Configuration is listed)
  3. In the Authenticate panel, click on "Show" to the right of the "API Token" (beside the token that is masked with "*****")
  4. Complete the authentication in the separate window displayed
  5. Highlight the token that is displayed, copy and save it to use in step 4

Step 2: Copy your Regional API Endpoint (URL)

Remain on the REST API Details page to copy your Regional Endpoint URL using the following instructions:
  1. Scroll down to the Regional API Endpoints panel
  2. Highlight the URL that displayed under the "SERVER" title, copy and save it to use in step 4

Step 3: Add the Default Callback URL

Remain on the REST API Details page to add your Default Callback URL using the following instructions:
  1. Scroll down to the Callback URLs panel
  2. Click the Edit button 
  3. Paste the following URL into the Default URL text boxhttps://sp.yakchat.com/sinch/message
  4. Click the Configure button to save the the Default URL

Step 4: Verify the Number Configuration

Navigate to Your virtual numbers and check the configuration using the following instructions:
  1. Navigate to Numbers > Your virtual numbers using the left menu
  2. Select, copy and save the phone number to be used for testing SMS
  3. Click on the phone number and confirm the correct Service Plan ID is selected or use the Edit button to change the Service Plan
  4. Scroll down to the SMS configuration panel and click on Set callback URL 
  5. Check the settings are the same as setup in the previous steps or correct the service plan the number is assigned to

Step 5: Submit your connection details

Enter the following Sinch connection details in the the form below:
  1. Select "Sinch" as the SMS service provider
  2. Enter your API Token into Integration Data 1 (step 1)
  3. Enter your Regional API Endpoint URL into Integration Data 2 (step 2)
  4. The phone number we can use to test the service is working correctly (step 4)
