Contact Management - Filter and Search Contacts

How to Filter Contacts 

  1. Navigate to the Contacts page in the application. 
  2. Select the contact book of your interest: 
    1. Personal — contacts you created for use with your Personal inbox
    2. Shared — contacts assigned to any of your Shared inboxes
    3. Company — contacts available to all users in your company
  3. You can filter all of the above contact books by Tags
    1. Open the tags dropdown
    2. Select the tags you want to filter by
  4. If you work with multiple shared inboxes, you can also filter your Shared contacts by Inboxes. 
    1. Click on the Inbox filter. By default all of your shared inboxes are selected.
    2. Choose the inbox you want to focus on


How to Search for Contacts

  1. Navigate to the Contacts page in the application. 
  2. Select the contact book of your interest: 
    1. Personal — contacts you created for use with your Personal inbox
    2. Shared — contacts assigned to any of your Shared inboxes
    3. Company — contacts available to all users in your company
    4. Outlook — contacts synced from your Outlook account
    5. SharePoint — contacts pulled from SharePoint contact lists
    6. Entra ID — contacts from Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory)
  3. In the search bar, type in a name, phone number or email address to find a specific contact.
  4. If you’ve already applied any filters — like tags or inbox filters — YakChat will only search within those results.
